About the Role
FuelEd seeks a collaborative, creative, independent Development Partner to join its talented impact driven team. The Development Partner joins FuelEd at an exciting and critical stage of its growth and development where FuelEd seeks to increase philanthropic and government funding that complements its growing earned revenue strategy. As FuelEd expands its work nationally, it intends to build a foundation of significant national support along with regional funders and stakeholders. An ideal candidate for this role is able to design a fundraising strategy for growth while also executing the plan.

The Development Partner will secure resources from foundations, corporations, major individual donors, as well as state and federal agencies. They will forge new relationships and steward funders to build FuelEd visibility, influence, and financial resources. Working closely with other team members, the Director of Development will secure funding for new programs, innovation, research and development, and organizational capacity.

Candidates will have extraordinary relational and emotional intelligence, a high level of integrity and professionalism, and ability to collaborate with the organization’s varied constituencies, and skillful at balancing collaboration with individual initiative and accountability. Candidates should have superior communications skills with the ability to get others engaged in the vision of the organization. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to the organization’s DEIB work and represent it through increasing staff and board diversity and engagement.

Location: FuelEd Partners work fully remote anywhere within the United States.

The Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy
● Design (and annually revisit) multi-year fundraising strategy and annual plans for meeting/exceeding the organization’s national fundraising goal of $1M.
● Review/develop forecasts and evaluations of fundraising strategies, ensuring that necessary systems, tools, and processes are created and maintained.
● Evaluate and report on fundraising progress to the team and Board.
● Serve as the organization’s philanthropic visionary, elevating trends and guiding the team toward financial success.

Direct Fundraising
● Identify, cultivate, and maintain individual, corporate, and foundation donors in collaboration with key team members.
● Build institutional pipeline with emphasis on corporate giving and foundations capable of giving multiple-year grants of $100K or greater.
● Build individual major gift pipelines, with an emphasis on current donors and prospects contributing $10,000 or more.
● Write LOI’s, grant proposals and other funder correspondence as well as manage contract support i.e. grant writer(s).
● Create opportunities to educate and inspire major gift donors and prospects and provide timely reporting and updates on collective impact and success.
● Cultivate members of the Board of Directors as donors, including offering support for their individual commitments and collective fundraising efforts.
● Oversee strong fundraising data management and stewardship processes and systems.

Our Ideal Candidate Has…
● At least 7-10 years of experience and a proven track record in comprehensive fundraising management or business development experience, demonstrating growth in roles and expertise.
● Passion for the FuelEd mission of growing emotionally-intelligent educators and relationship-driven schools.
● Strong track record of securing five and six-figure gifts/grants and stewarding significant relationships.
● Knowledge of best practices in fundraising and philanthropy trends.
● High self-awareness, as well as excellent interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication skills.
● A resourceful style with the ability to be flexible, collaborate cross-functionally, take initiative, execute independently with minimal supervision, and manage and prioritize tasks and projects and enjoy working in a highly entrepreneurial environment.
● Experience working in small organizations scaling from startup phase to growth phase.
● Able to understand and collaboratively build an organization that has a dual revenue model to be both a leader and an executor on our small team.
● Ability to thrive in a remote work setting with Hubspot or a similar CRM is a plus
● Bachelor's degree required and Masters degree preferred

Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this position is between $100,000 - $140,000 and will be determined based on prior experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Benefits include comprehensive health, dental, vision, 401K match (after a 90 day vesting period), unlimited PTO and ample opportunity to grow into your best self through challenging work aligned with your strengths and powerful relationships with colleagues.
